Well, not literally outer space. For those interested in Satellite Radio, specifically the current successful and powerful merging of XM and Sirius in the Satellite Radio Arena, one popular topic is the legend Howard Stern and his ongoing negotiations for a renewal of his contract. His profitable move to Satellite not only fits his bill but his income. So why the continuing negotiations? His contract is almost up since he first entered “outer space.”
The answer for the continuing negotiations is money; and the fact is Howard Stern costs a lot of it.
Speculations of how it’ll turn out look positive given that CEO of Sirius XM Mr. Mel Karmazin stipulated that Howard Stern has been a “great partner,” and while the discussions continue, in no way has the goal of keeping Stern on Satellite Radio diminished.
Nevertheless, Howard Stern’s apparently driving a hard bargain. As said before, he’s worth money. Sirius XM’s not shying away from the prospect, saying that they’re basically willing to purchase any kind of content they lik in order to drive listener satisfaction. The point is this: Howard Stern, even to this day, drives listener satisfaction. Sirius XM notices that.
The journey continues, and the fact is the beginning of the new year is already upon us. We can only wonder if an agreement has been reached, is Howard Stern still on the air, have they come to an agreement that benefits both parties and will then thusly benefit the listeners of Satellite Radio.
Naturally, you either hate or love Howard Stern. Whichever way you feel, the point is he grabs your attention. If Sirius XM is willing to pony up the dough up to the specs of Stern’s expectation, you can hate him or love him more now this new year. Hopefully his journey to outer space is complete and we can listen to his private parts stories to our heart’s content.
