Earphones Playing Loud Music In Our Ears – Is This Healthy Use Of Tech?

Our obsession with use of technology for entertainment purposes and personalization of technology has had a very bad effect on our health. There are numerous questions raised on whether the combination of cell phones, smart phones, laptops, digital music players, internet radio devices and others such electronic gadgets are good for our health.

Electronics has been around for quite some time but very rarely has mankind utilized so many electronic gadgets so close to the body. With a cell phone near the chest, a music player near the groin and a laptop on the lap, we will be surrounded by radio waves all the time.

As if this was not enough, we now have developed the tendency of keeping both our ears covered with ear phones at all times. Since personalization of music has become a must for all, each and every individual now owns her personal music gallery containing all his or her favorite tracks. Even if people like a single track commonly, they will prefer listening to the track on their own music player with their own customizations.

All this is definitely a good idea. However, there is no denying that keeping our ears plugged and having loud music blaring so close to the ear is going to cause problems in the future. Considering the current trend, chances are high that we will be using digital hearing aids soon to overcome the problem caused by electronic ear plugs. One of the simplest solutions to overcome this problem is to keep one ear open and listen to music through the ear phone fitted to just one ear at a time.

Further, it is important to shift and shuffle the ear plugs to ensure we do not develop the habit of listening to very loud music in one ear alone. This is, at best, a temporary solution. The permanent solution would be to prevent loud music from playing so close to our ears.
